Shedding Light On Bias

This is a copy of an email I sent to http://www.studentnewsdaily.com/ about their site.

Hello, I found your site through a link shared on Facebook by a conservative family member for the “Conservative vs Liberal” chart. I’m an educator and always looking for resources to use in the classroom, we’re about to start a propaganda unit and I think your “Conservative vs. Liberal” chart will be a great example. Your site will also be a useful tool to really make students think about identifying bias by looking at the cartoons on your site (and the “Reporter’s opinion” posts which provide more obvious bias). I wonder if your own political views are coloring what you post (I think it is impossible not to) and if you should identify them to your audience (or make it a lesson) since you present the site as a resource for students.

I never received a reply, not even a short note saying thank you.
